    okay...aku nak share problem yg aku alami malam tadi untuk owner Waja yag ada dalam BDN ni.
    fuel pump problem is common problem in Waja.
    masalahnya bukanlah pada pump motor...tetapi power supply connector and/or its crimping!
    solution mudah dan murah.
    troubleshooting process je yg amik masa sket sebab nak check setiap cable ke fuel pump tu.
    alhamdulillah...aku dapat save RM yg banyak.
    dah la kene waktu malam...klu panggil mekanik tak kenal...mau koyak gak wallet aku ni...huhuhu.
    ok..di sini aku share pengalaman dan story about it...dipetik dari forum WPC aku dan blog aku.
    harap dapat membantu semua owner Waja.
    oh ye...mileage Waja aku ni 136k km dan 4 tahun 5 bulan.

    my time bomb has exploded last night.
    alhamdulillah...settled in less than 45 minutes.
    my case...same like qozh.xtreme's case.

    i was at Petronas Bt 3, around 2030hrs.
    my engine idling while i SMSing my friends for the New Year 2009 celebration.
    suddenly, the engine stuttered about 2 seconds and shut down.
    i cranked up the engine. the cranking is good coz its sounds good and not a weak battery symptom.
    i tried 3 times. so, i confirmed with myself that i faced a fuel pump problem.

    i checked the fuel pump connector...but not dare to touch anything on top of it...hehe.
    so, called up my friend (also a mechanic) whom i saw he troubleshooted one Waja with same problem, couple of months back.
    the Waja fuel pump was OK. the troubleshooting done by him saves the Waja owner a lot.
    waited for him to come down from KL, about 2 hours plus.

    checked the fuel pump grounding. grounding was OK.
    then take out the fuel pump from the tank.
    checked each connector inside the fuel pump module.
    bypassed power cable...heard the "zinggg..." noise, the pump's motor noise.
    pheww, it shown that the motor is OK.

    there's 4 connectors and cables from top module to internal part of the module.
    2 for motor power supply, the other 2 is for fuel gauge signal.
    took out 2 cables for the motor power supply and totally replace it with thicker gauge cable and more rigid connector's crimping.
    once done that, cranked up the engine.
    "vroommm...bruppp, bruppp, bruppp, bruppp, bruppp, bruppp, bruppp, bruppp, bruppp..." was heard.
    waaaa...i'm so relieved with big smile on my face.
    problem solved around 2330hrs.

    actually, the fuel pump's motor is OK.
    the problem was with the connector and cable crimping, either on top of the fuel pump module (right under the rear sit) or inside part of the fuel pump module (soaked with fuel).
    the tedious part was to troubleshoot one by one cable/connector and to install back the fuel pump module onto fuel tank.

    ok here's a photo of Waja fuel pump internal wiring.



    - YELLOW and RED terminals are for power supply of pump motor.
    - 2 WHITE terminals are for fuel quantity gauge signal.
    - 2 BROWN hoses are fuel line, in and out of the fuel tank.
    - 2 RED boxes are terminal on top of the pump motor.
    - 1 PURPLE is my pen...hehehe.

    the photo above was taken from conked unit belong to my old colleague, stored in cabinet for so long.
    so, just now i did my investigation to check whether the pump motor is still ok or not and to prove that my justification about Waja Fuel Pump is required to be change when suddenly the engine die is wrong.

    1st, i connect the 14.4V DC power supply to the terminal on top of the fuel pump module (to the terminal colored RED and YELLOW).
    no power, no sound emitted from the pump motor, so i thought that the motor totally conked.

    then, i connect the power supply directly to the pump motor terminal, directly in RED box in the picture above.
    to my surprise, the pump motor still functioning when i gave the 14.4V DC power supply into it. the pump motor is still alive!

    before i stop my investigation, i connect back the power supply on top of the fuel pump module but now the pump motor run intermittently (ON, OFF and ON, OFF and so on).
    it shows that the connection from the terminal on top of the fuel pump module to the pump motor terminal got problem.
    whether the crimping not good or the wire got problem (weird, isn't it?)

    so, the conclusion is...for this so-long-be-thought-conked-fuel-pump-of-my-old-colleague...the pump motor is still ok. only the connection from the terminal on top of the fuel pump to the terminal on the pump motor is in problem.
    and if i redo the power supply wiring and make it better, i believe this so-long-be-thought-conked-fuel-pump-of-my-old-colleague can be use.
    hey, now i got spare Waja fuel pump...haha

      tq for the info...nanti aku bgtau adik aku sebab dia pun ada masalah dgn fuel pump waja gak...

      ari tu jadi sekali, panggil mekanik yg mmg biasa dengan kitaorang..dia datang tgk2..buat hapa tah ketuk2 pastu dah ok sampai la ni....

            good info.

            maybe waja punya fuel pump sama mcm gen2 dan persona..at least if something happen aku dah ada idea where to start troubleshooting.

                Aku pun kena gak masalah ni.... minyak dalam tangki banyak lagi.
                Tapi keta tak boleh hidup. Pelik gak aku mula2 tu. Aku kena kat LDP, mujur ada brother mekanik dari sg ramal yang kebetulan lalu kat kawasan tu. Dia tolong aku towing keta aku ke rumah...Cek punya cek dia kata ni masalah fuel pump. Kata dia kos barang ori RM 700. Taiwan punya RM 400. China punya RM 180. Makkk aiii mau rabak poket aku.. Barang china memang aku tak layan.

                Aku mintak tolong kat adik ipar aku yang juga seorang mekanik. Dia minta aku RM 4++. Aku dah pening kepala dah ni.... Nasib baik aku jumpa thread ni sebelum aku buat keputusan beli baru. Aku ikut camner saranan oleh luzirahs ternyata fuel pump aku tak rosak cuma cable saja yang putus. so aku sambungkan balik dan solder sikit kasi kemas dan VROOOOOMMMMM kereta aku dah boleh di lenjan... Terima kasih LUZIRAHS.. so kalau ada sesapa yang tetiba jer rosak fuel pump tu leh ler call aku...nanti aku gi tolong...hehehe

                  Aku nak update post aku,, setakat hari ni fuel pump aku tak de masalah dah...aku dah buat perjalanan jauh lebih kurang 150KM. prestasi kereta stabil.

                    member aku repair kes fuel waja nie mmg bnyaklah...gen-2 is same fuel pump with waja....

                    mmebr aku syorkan klau full tank melempah tak digalakkan utk fuel pam. electrical...krn jangka hayatnya akan pendek..
                    klau jarang2 takperlah.....atau utk perjalanan jauh...


                    klau jenis suka isi minyak full lah..
                    isi minyak full tank smpai ke paip tank tu...cth 60 ringgit...isian ketika lampu mengelip atau indicator tu kelip...
                    maka disyorkan isi RM 40 atau RM50 slpas tu.....
                    tapi jgnlah klau meter tu blum warning dah isi full.......mmg tak boleh agak kepenuhnya..

                      huis.. aku pakai gen2.. memang kaki isi full tank punya.. tapi tahap pump tendang sendiri ler.. tu pun dah jejak 60 henget.. fuel pump boleh rosak eyk.. ingat kalo tank selalu kosong jer rosak..

                      kena tukau prektis nieh.. isi 50 henget jer.... (dah lima taun pakai.. dah dekat2 klise ler eyk?.. suruh pomen check condition fuel pump ok x?)

                        boleh ajer....mudah ajer kalu nak cek fuel pam gen-2 sbb bawah seat ajer...

                        tekanan dlm paip dari tank ker injection mmg tinggi...ssebahagian petrol dialirkan balik ke tank sbg lebihan...
                        klau isi full melempah yng aliran dari injection line ke tank tidak bolehlah pasal dah penuh..
                        masa nie fuel pump bekerja keras seumpama jantung yng org darah tinggi..
                        lama2 diafram fuel pamp dah lemah lah....
                        dan tggu masa lah utk diganti...

                        utk pecut kat highway mmg boleh isi full tank nie sbb rpm masa nie tinggi..jadi pancitan petrol lebih kerap dan aliran balik ke tank bolehlah sikit ajer...jadi fuel pam bekerja dgn selesa..


                        klau kereta brek emergensi pon fuel pam boleh rosak gak.....sbb enjin dah stop..pancit tu off maka tekanan dlm paip tinggi secara tiba2...cuma jarang2 berlaku...

                          check bawah seat?.. eyk.. kena tanya pomen aku gak nieh..letih ler dia nak jawab...

                          aku selalu naik higway..tue pasal suka isi penuh.... 130 ke 190 mainan ajeler.. dtg sawan aku.. 230km aku sesah.. mlm ler..

                          (baru lepas wat major servise.. x tau lak pasal fuel pump.. ni baru tau..)

                            Aku jarang isi penuh dan tak pernah biarkan minyak dalam tanki kosong baru isi. tu buat aku pelik sikit tu. Pendek kata memang dah nasib nak kena. Kawan aku lagi la tak bernasib baik kereta dia waja campro baru pakai setahun lebih tapi spring clutch hancur (pecah,patah). siap gi proton shah alam service.

                              oic..bagus la info ko no luzi... aku pun ada gak sebiji fuel pump tp yg kong bukan pump.. tp fuel gauge je! myb leh try check lik guna method ko ni! kalu ok aku dpt spare fuel pump! huhu nasib baik aku lum campak n lupuskn lagi...
